Cognitive behavioural therapy

Practise collaborative structure without losing the person.

Use CBT practice scenarios to rehearse agenda setting, guided discovery, formulation, behavioural planning, and collaborative reflection.

01

Build a shared focus

Practise moving from a broad problem toward a workable focus while checking that the client understands and agrees with the direction.

02

Use curiosity before technique

Explore thoughts, emotions, behaviour, context, and meaning before reaching for a tool. Notice when structure helps the client and when it becomes another form of avoidance.

03

Review collaboration and fit

Feedback looks for guided discovery, clear summaries, collaborative experiments, and attention to the relationship. It does not certify competence in CBT.

Build confidence before the next real session.

Start with a simulated client, practise the conversation, then review what you want to try next.
