Psychodynamic therapy
Use psychodynamic practice scenarios to explore defences, recurring relational patterns, transference, countertransference, and careful interpretation.
Listen for shifts in topic, humour, intellectualisation, withdrawal, idealisation, and other ways the client manages difficult feeling.
Practise naming what may be happening between you without presenting an interpretation as fact. Test timing, tentativeness, and the client's capacity to stay with the material.
Feedback highlights relational pulls and possible patterns. A simulation cannot establish unconscious meaning, and any interpretation remains a hypothesis for supervision.
Start with a simulated client, practise the conversation, then review what you want to try next.
